The inaugural Chess Connects Conference will take place during this year’s Global Chess Festival.
The conference endeavours to highlight the major role chess plays in art, its contribution to science, the opportunities it provides in education as well as the evolution of chess as a sport. The talks will be of substantial interest to both chess lovers and those who may not have any particular connection to the game. Guest speakers will hail from all parts of the globe including Chile, USA, Spain, Israel, The Netherlands, Russia, England and Hungary.
The keynote will be the Champions Talk where Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time, will have a conversation with ex-World Champion Vladimir Kramnik. They will discuss a number of topics including what it takes to get to the top of the game, how to stay balanced as a professional player and how the former World Champion views chess as an art, science and educational tool within the context of chess as a competitive game.
Your host at the unique location of the Hungarian National Gallery will be well known commentator and author IM Lawrence Trent.
The language of the conference is English.
