As a pre-event of the Global Chess Festival the Judit Polgar Chess Foundation is happy to provide for young players the opportunity to compete in an international environment at the venue of the Hungarian Chess Federation, 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa u 10. (Close to the Parliament)
Organizer: Judit Polgar Chess Foundation
Opening ceremony: 5th October, Saturday 9.00 am.
Tournament: on Saturday 9.15 am till 20.00. pm, on Sunday from 15.00 pm. till 20.00 pm.
We would like to encourage young players born in 2006 or later with a FIDE rating starting from 1001 up to 1600 to take part (unrated players can compete only in limited numbers) in the International Youth Chess Challange event.
Registration: until 15th September 2019 at the bottom of this page. Due to the capacity of the venue, a limited number of participants may enter the competition. The applicants will receive confimation from the organizers and the participants will be listed at the official website on 20th September 2019.
Entry fee: Free of charge to all participants.
System: Participants will be sorted in groups depending on the number of entries. There will be mixed groups of rated and unrated players. Planned number of rounds: 7, time contol: 30-30 min. + 30 sec/move.
Prizes: All players will receive a decorated certificate of participation and souvenirs.
The winner will receive a Cup and a special prize. Places 2-6 will receive special prizes.
Special opportunity to meet personally the best female chess player of all times, Grand Master and Olympic Champion Judit Polgar.
