CHESS, CANVAS, BRUSH

What inspires you in chess? What inspires the artist?

"The journey of a game of chess and the journey of finishing a painting can round up multiple emotions and it can lead you to many different outcomes. You do not know what will be on this canvas just like you don’t know how a game of chess will play out. We were inspired by Judit Polgar to make a tribute to chess history and its cultural weight", say well-renowned young artists, Nicole and Daniel Labrosse, whose works had been exhibited in Tate Modern, London.
Daniel Labrosse is a French-Hungarian self-taught visual artist, illustrator, and animator. His work is characterized by cartoon-like linework, vibrant color palettes, and compositions reminiscent of the crowded scenes of Northern Renaissance painters. Nicole Labrosse is a Chilean-American fabric artist and colorist. Nicole’s work is characterized by techniques both new and traditional. She and her husband Daniel have been working together on art projects for nearly ten years.
Follow along as the artists paint a chess-themed artwork in real-time during the Global Chess Festival in the home of the greatest Hungarian masterpieces.

We reserve the right to make changes to the programmes.
