WHERE CAN YOU MOVE?
September 26, Saturday
Hungarian National Gallery, 1,5th floor
10:30-11:30
Chess pieces, unusual paths, playful challenges

What happens when the chessboard suddenly breaks out of its usual boundaries? What if, instead of the familiar square, you find yourself standing on a huge, unusually shaped playing field? One thing is certain: the way the chess pieces move doesn’t change – but you’ll have to think in a completely different way!
Move in a straight line like a rook, diagonally like a bishop, or find the knight’s next special jump! Through movement and play, children can learn and practise how the chess pieces move, while constantly having to observe, plan and make decisions: where can the path take you next?
The unusual playing field offers a new perspective on chess: familiar rules must be applied in new situations, different possibilities considered, and the next good move found.
Move, play, think – and discover where the chess pieces’ unusual paths can take you!
The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the program.
